Cold forming is a high-speed forging process where coiled wire, at room temperature, is fed through a cold-forming machine. The material is sheared to the required length and then progressively moved through a succession of punches and dies to reshape the working metal (either larger/smaller in diameter, longer/shorter in length), resulting in the desired product. Additional operations, can then be applied to arrive at the finished design.
Materials we specialise in include steel, brass and stainless steel. For high strength applications in steel, the 8.8 high tensile grade is the preferred choice.
